Strawberries in May, bumper harvest, Himalayas

The home that we live in has had strawberry plants for a long time, never have the fruits been seen in May. This year, the 5 patches of strawberries are fruit laden. What is even more astonishing is that flowers and fruits are in bloom simultaneously, on the same branch……the best strawberries that we have ever eaten have come as a blessing…
Miracles happen around you all the time, wake up and see them…..

Roses in abundance, our home-Himalayas

If you want to count all the roses on  all the rose plants in our garden, make sure you have a lot of time, days even…..one file day you will stop counting, because you would arrive at the result that we have…..the number is infinite, and that is not the number of the flowers, that is the number of the blessings that God has bestowed upon us……I have to run, the clouds are overcast, the birds are chirping and we have a rain dance coming on đŸ™‚Â

Enjoy the journey

Once we lose our anxiety at arriving at the destination, we enjoy the journey……….the sights along the way may vary from ….a little boy playing with a puppy, a parent carrying a child on their shoulders, green fields, red flowers, a rainbow………….do not miss these because you’re too busy looking at your watch or phone…..the better half and I are journeying up the glorious serpentine mountain roads again……….

Kingfisher—-flight-y

One of the flightiest birds that takes off if you gaze too long upon it….(and gesticulate wildly and sing to it!!)…..is the gorgeous Kingfisher….the poor birds have dived head down, come up again, skimmed water surfaces for me to take a picture, and hopefully leave them alone…..but I look in awe and forget to take pictures…and I carry the tiny camera which is not expected to capture their acrobatics….however, I managed to get a flash of the brilliant blue and an eye………

Plum blossom

Surrounded by plum and apricot blossoms in the Himalayas, one tends to sigh/ giggle a lot with pleasure. The trees are laden with flowers, white, pink and red colour the landscape. Sometimes I shut my eyes and open them suddenly to see if it is a mirage of the high altitude kind………..the weather is terrific, the cool mountain breeze caresses my face, the mountains surround me, each peak has a name……the clouds drift on overhead, the birds chirp…..last year we ate the plums and apricots which grew on these trees………..the best things in life are away from a densely populated, pretentious metropolitan environment…….:)

Oriental magpie-robin-our garden

This bird sounds like a celebrity, and certainly behaved like one for a few months. Now it does not hide in the dense foliage of our garden, it perches a few feet from me, and even turns it’s back to me…..today it brought it’s mate and flew around our trees and over the grass in a super display of colour and grace….I have a few blurry pictures which I will share later, since I was too busy admiring and applauding the show đŸ™‚

Before you bite my head off, in case you’re a woman who thinks this is wrong…..do you not want your daughter to have a career she loves and earn on her own???

Mountain Art–Himalayas

Artists find a way to express their art…..they do not really care about money or appreciation. High up in the Himalayas, there a group of rocks which have a temple, flowers, a peacock and a mansion on them……….among the dark winter landscape, they liven up the scene. The artist? unknown…..I was reminded of a song which says…..’my Art will go on’……:)

Lady Sun-dance–our garden

Birds and plants sense a friendly presence/ potential threat. Our garden has an array of haphazardly planted trees, vegetables and flowers. Initially, the birds would hide among the dense foliage on the trees if I so much as looked their way. Now? they fly around me and over me, posing mid-flight……….’click me, click me’……you don’t believe it? here’s one of these tiny beautiful birds….hovering a few feet away from me as I click with my tiny pocket camera…..
