Alpinia purpurata-rare wild flower, India

Wikipedia does not know that this plant grows in India!! There, now I can stop smirking and attempt to wax eloquent about this fabulous beauty we spied in the remote jungles which have not found their way into the list of tropical rain forests…….the plant stands tall and bright along among the lush greenery, has deep┬áred bracts which you would consider are the flower, but the white flower that scales the summit of the plant and blooms triumphant is the flower…..A gorgeous plant, called red ginger / ostrich plume, it can not be ignored. It is meant to be admired, to interrupt hectic travelling schedules, to be gazed upon at leisure….and left unharmed.
