Bitter gourd grows in our backyard. After frying it, baking it, boiling it and cooking it in every way possible, we decided to juice it. The first thing in the morning, drink a glass of this juice. Please consult your physician before you try anything for the first time!! Here is how we make it:
Wash 3 biter gourds, slice vertically, deseed. Chop up the bitter gourd and put in a juicer/ blender with some water. Blend/ grind and strain. Drink up!! I feel healthier already. I followed up this with an omelette of two eggs, cooked in desi ghee with chopped onions, tomatoes and green chilies. A glass of milk completed my breakfast.
Why bitter gourd juice??? fresh vegetables are best consumed raw, unless it is harmful to use them in that manner. Bitter gourd has been reported to be full of:
- Anti-ageing properties
- Immune system boosters
- Cholesterol lowering agents
- Blood sugar stabilising agents……
