At 11,000 feet above sea level, the tree line starts vanishing in most areas. In one such location, a bright black and white butterfly flew past us to perch on a plant 50 feet higher than where we were trekking. I looked up and was fascinated to see the sun shining through one half of the opened wings. It was a Colour Sergeant Butterfly, found in forests and flies around flowery bushes on sunny days.
