Demons in the darkness

I’m afraid of the dark

Of territory uncharted and unknown

I wonder where the demons park

Are we in fear of our own dark side?

Of the laws of decency by which we did not abide?

The winds that howls through dried leaves

The familiar scents and sounds of the day

Which make our heart sing,

Terrify us in the dark… we ourselves deceive?

Does this fear have a purpose?

That the most dangerous beast of all stays indoors

While harmless beings with nocturnal vision roam free?

First light dispels every doubt and fear

It’s only happy sounds that we hear……
