The green chilli plant can be grown in a pot or in your kitchen garden, We have a couple of plants which provide us with green chillies throughout the year. They are useful additions to food, pickles, chutneys and can be eaten raw, grilled, fried or pickled. They are rich in Vitamins A, C and K and contain Capsaicin. This has been reported to cause a burning sensation along with the feeling of euphoria and can cause relief from pain when applied locally. Those with ulcers or gastrointestinal disorders should consult a physician before use.
The plant is quite fetching, with pretty white flowers. Ingestion of green chillies in the raw form with a meal is said to produce weight loss. There is nothing like fresh green chillies to spice up your day!
