Peas to you…raw green peas with tomato=double the health and taste

Green peas are not expensive, though they are packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients. They have the advantage of being protected in the pod , hence they are safely eaten raw, which is the tastiest and healthiest way to eat them. A polyphenol called coumestrol in peas is believed to protect against stomach cancer. They also contain saponins which help to fight against diabetes, high cholesterol and cancer.



They have a low glycemic index and are high in fibre and proteins. The phenolic acids like ferulic and caffeic acid along with flavonols like catechin and epicatechin in peas enhance their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory quality. They contain omega-3 fats (alpha-linolenic acid or ALA). if you thought that was not enough, they also have beta carotene and Vitamin E. The flowers on the pea plant are beautiful as well. Apart from being good for us, they are good for the soil on which they grow!!!!!
