The ruby red fruit called pomegranate has been known to be beneficial since ancient times in all cultures and scriptures. It can be eaten as such, or added to salads, meat, vegetables, yoghurt, wine, cocktails and chutneys.
It contains antioxidants, polyphenols, essential fatty acids, folate and fibre. It has been used to cure throat diseases, gastrointestinal disorders and is being tested for anti-cancer properties. In traditional medicine, it is considered a blood builder.
The seeds vary in colour from a pink to a dark red colour. It is a fruit can can only improve your health, so eat it or drink it right away 🙂
