The innovators

There are those who live in the lap of luxury and whine when they have to face the rare traffic jam, the 2 minutes without electricity before the generator comes on, the sterling silver getting slightly tarnished, the gold edged crockery getting chipped….and then there are those sans running water/ electricity or a washroom in their homes, the lack of resources for medical care or three square meals a day…..who manage to smile through adversity and innovate to make their lives better, who manage to toil endlessly and sing as they sweat, to share their measly meal with a street dog……I saw many of them recently, among them were the rickshaw pullers who literally pulled the weight of well-fed people….they welcomed the pouring rain and simply smiled and pulled a polythene sheet over their head as they cycled their way to their next meal….Salute!
